Detection of dragging up/down does not work :(

Currently the widget does unfortunately not detect dragging up/down gestures.

i tried to increase the panel height so i am definitively dragging on the widget and also activated notifications under visual feedback but i get nothing :(. Dragging left/right does however work.

Hi, please do this:

1. Enable logging in the widget settings > Troubleshoot, the spacer will show text like this:
   

2. Open a terminal and run journalctl --user -xu plasma-plasmashell -f --no-pager > plasmashell.log

3. Drag up/down or any other actions that are not working

4. Terminate the journalctl command and attach the plasmashell.log file it generated

The start of the drag is being detected but for some reason the release of the mouse button is not being detected, here is what a successful detection looks like:

In a previous version of plasma there was a change in Qt/KWin that prevented the widget for working but it was fixed, perhaps you issue is a variation of the same bug? Please try this https://github.com/antroids/application-title-bar/tree/25a0f4725343150aee66facdfbfd2aa6534f7317?tab=readme-ov-file#note-plasma-63---633-compatibility-issues that widget was also affected by that at the time and disabling the ButtonsRebind KWin plugin worked around the problem.

If it's not that, I will need more information about what kind of input device are you using and if you have other add-ons that could be causing a conflict.

If you can, I would also suggest trying the X11 session to see if it works there (however the way it works on X11 is a bit different: Drag + Click to drop instead of the Drag + Release to drop on wayland)

the fix you provided did indeed work thx 👍. Just asking do you know what the buttonsrebindplugin is required for? Also is this a plasma/kwin bug that should be reported?

According to the merge request: Allow rebinding of extra mouse buttons I believe that should be the "Configure Extra Buttons" in Settings > Mouse.

Honestly I have no idea, I reported this to KDE back in plasma 6.3 beta (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499128) but since it started happening only after Qt update, it was probably a Qt regression and it got closed as such.

How long have you been using this widget? If dragging was working before and suddenly starting showing this problem again then it could mean that there was a recent regression, probably a different cause though as I running the latest version of everything and dragging still works for me.

i used it for a long time basically since plasma 6 released i think but i cant exactly pinpoint the time when it broke :(
