How to execute command line in a pipe and read line by line from the output?

Hi, I have read the document of the echo server in the readme, and I also read the docs, and the examples.

But I'm not sure, the pipe looks like I have to check every bytes in read_start callback functions, find the \n char and split the readed chunks into lines list?
