Cleanup before we can merge into main

DOD:

• Introduce an actual code formatter and use it WITHOUT disrupting how .config.js files look in main currently
• Decouple ALL config files from "code" files with hardcoded defaults (either in separate files or right there -- might be cluttery), otherwise controller crashes even if a single config isn't set
• Hold off on merging new features until release
