Any interest in updating Zipkin?

I noticed this project depends on some dead zipkin assets. If interested, I could help guide on how to get onto the maintained codebase. This would include broader features than before (ex alternatives to scribe and json encoding of spans).

Hi @adriancole, I am not sure who is the main maintainer right now, but from what I have seen of the recents open sourcing efforts of the Zipkin team, an upgrade would bring a lot of small benefits. ping @lloydmeta @btakashi
