Need tags without 'v' prefix

When I add the library via SPM it thinks that the latest version is 8.4.0, not 8.27.5, because of the v prefix in the tags. Can you please skip the prefix?

Hi @via-guy, SPM accepts tags with or without a v prefix.

In Xcode’s “Add Package” dialog, when you pick “Up to Next Major Version”, the UI shows our minimum supported version (8.4.0) and the next major boundary (< 9.0.0). That doesn’t mean you’re pinned to 8.4.0 — it simply defines the lower bound of the range. SPM will always resolve to the latest release available in the 8.x series.

After you click “Add Package”, Xcode correctly resolves to the latest version. For example, here’s how it looks today on the latest version (8.38.0):

If you want to ensure you’re always on the latest 8.x, leave it set to “Up to Next Major Version.” If you need exactly one version, you can choose “Exact.”

Since this is expected behavior and the latest versions resolve correctly, we’ll go ahead and close this issue out.
