Export formats for (VHF) contest logging

Hello,

I have entered my first couple of VHF contests and they don't accept ADIF files, only EDI and Cabrillo. I briefly looked into what would be required to add support for exporting different formats, and I think it's something I could work on. Before I jump in and try and remember the little php I learned nearly 15 years ago I was wondering if you had any advice on how to attack it.

Also, I noticed that in the ADIF export it doesn't seem to export the serial numbers exchanged?

The Cabrillo is coming, got sidelined by station logbooks being important after I moved QTH! but there's a branch which has a library that will generate the correct output, it just needs integrated into the rest of the system

@Cadair as for building an export, I would look at how the ADIF-export is done. And ask away if you need help.

Ah my bad, it is in there. Parsing the ADIF file by eye isn't the easiest thing in the world!

No problem. I thought it was added. The export was rewritten to use an AdifHelper, which made it much easier to edit the export. It was a nightmare before that.

Kinda relatedly, I don't seem to be able to add a contest? When I fill in the form and submit it doesn't end up in the list?

@Cadair I fixed a few bugs in the code. One was that contesting.js was loaded when editing contest names. That's reason of the error. The second one was a fix in the view for the form. I've pushed these changes to the master now, so you could try that.

Is there a way to use the contest name for exports or statistics?

Contest name should be provided as a tag in the ADIF, currently no way to have it on its own within stats at the moment but let me finish getting latest bits done and we can look at doing that

@Cadair thanks for confirming that the fix worked. I've pushed a fix for creating modes as well, since it had the same problem.

Has anybody found a easy way to import EDI into cloudlog? My way so far is to convert it from EDI to ADIF but i wonder if there is already some more convenient way?

That is strange. Exactly the code base that my repo is on as well. And there is no condition to show this export menu item ... @AndreasK79 you have an idea here?

I have no explanation on what is going on here. I switched to master, and I have Cabrillo and Labels (from the picture, labels it not there either).

@arvis-soldans you can access admin and debug information. That might give you some clue.

Are you sure that you are updating the Cloudlog code in the directory where the web server serves from? What is the path to your Cloudlog directory?

Yes 100%... ok.. I start thinking make new one fresh download, with last code version end set up from beginning.... only need to understand how make backup of jpgs qsl cards and several user settings and qsl data...

That should work but does not explain why the update script does not work as intended.
(And as always: Make a backup of files and DB before doing that).

As I said make sure that the webserver uses the same directory to serve Cloudlog from as you are updating with git. I seems to me that either the webserver uses a different directory or the update script updates a Cloudlog checkout in a different directory.

Also the update script should show the path it is using like:

Cloudlog update started
-----------------------
Using /var... as working directory

What does it say in your case?
