I don't know if this has been thought of, but have you ever considered making CL be able to host the FCC data itself, the way QRZ.com does? I have to think the FCC callsign database would be open, per se, and in terms of today's storage ability, not all that big. I would prefer to not have to subscribe to QRZ.com just to be able to look up a callsign. I don't actually care about storing my logs there, though it's nice to have a backup.

Has this been considered?
