While it's probably overkill if all you want to run is docker, it's actually pretty easy to run systemd under WSL:

This is great! I failed to find anything similar in my search for it, but somehow it existed. I shall have a look at this and evaluate how it works and if it does the trick I'll definitely update wsl2-dev-env with the same.
