Change mainsail expert mode buttons to a config file

I use expert buttons or macro grouping in mainsail.

Instead of having to set up the buttons from the UI, it would be nice to be able to build my own file (in markdown, yaml, ect) and have mainsail read it from a certain dir.

I can clone my setup faster, sure, but my groupings can get complex so I'd find it easier to look at vscode vice mainsail UI drag and drop.

You can use the Backup/Restore function from the Mainsail Settings (in the General tab in the Interface Settings). This works with a json file.

But you have to "restore" your settings for your Macro settings. You cannot update it "instant".

So, just backup to create a JSON file? Then edit it and restore?

yes, the backup button in "Interface Settings > General" will download a json file. this is a dump from the Moonraker DB - Mainsail namespace. then you can edit/modify it on your local pc. when you click restore, you can chose with part you want to restore. just select macros, that all other settings will not be changed.
