Can't explore map after Camera zoomTo

I have something like this

<TouchableOpacity 
  onPress={() => cameraRef.current?.zoomTo(16)} 
>
</TouchableOpacity>

This happens after the button is pressed. After the map zooms in to 16 (in this case), zooming in/out of the map just results in the map snapping back to 16 after a few seconds, this also happens to other functions like moveTo().

Is this the correct way of implementing the zoomTo? or is it some kind of bug

This would need more input, please share a complete component with the MapView and Camera. Also which architecture are you using?

I was able to get it to work using setFollowZoom
