What is the reason for the PSF license?
I would like to package the cx_freeze for Debian because it is needed as a dependency of other libs included in Debian.
This is difficult to impossible with this "rare" license.
Can you change the license to GPL, MIT or similar that is DSFG compliant?

I think the same license as Python was used because cx_Freeze came out in Python's early days (Maybe @anthony-tuininga can tell us if that's it).
If Debian distributes Python, which uses this license, it can also distribute cx_Freeze.

Yes, that was the primary reason for the selection of that license -- to make it match Python at the time. I have no objection myself to changing the license to MIT.

The license shouldn't be a problem in Debian.
But the tests for building the package under python13 fail.
Unfortunately, I can't get the lib into Debian this way, but I need it because elasticsearch-curator now uses cx_freeze as a dependency.
I would like to complete the work before the new Debian version is frozen, but I urgently need your lib with python13 support.
What are the timelines for the 7.3.0 release?
