Thank you so much for your kind words and for using OpenAlgo! You're absolutely right — SEBI regulations restrict brokers from offering native paper trading environments via their APIs. However, since OpenAlgo is open source and self-hosted, you're free to customize it for personal use, including adding a paper trading feature. There's absolutely no issue as long as it’s for private, non-commercial purposes and doesn’t interact with live broker APIs in a misleading way. |

Hi,
Thanks a ton for the excellent product.
Though in the videos that I watched, you said that paper trading feature is not being allowed by SEBI to any of the brokers, what I am looking for is this:
Since the product is open source product, can I not customize it to include a paper trading feature? Because that is really essential for me to have that feature. I would first like to test my strategy on the paper trader and then only go into real trading.
Since this is going to be my personal customization, it should not be a problem know?
Can you help me by giving the steps required to make such paper trading feature work?
Thanks & Regards,
Ramakrishna
