I'm not well versed in how the apk is build or what ends up in it, but the linked CVE seems to be unrelated. I assume some binary sequence in the apk makes it look like it's an exploit for the specific CVE?

I agree, this is a common issue with security vulnerability scanning tools. I am not well versed with the specifics of the apk either, but the reported CVE is related to FortiOS which is the OS used on Fortinet firewall devices and such, and it seems very unlikely to be related. A quick search for CVE-2022-42475 "android" and CVE-2022-42475 "apk" did not indicate any obvious relationship either.
