Trying to install hyva theme and nothing happens

Hi, I successfully installed your magento docker and attempted to intall the hyva theme and it just did nothing ... no error, nothing
I spoke to hyva, they just said the install is broken, try warden
I tried warden (several times) and ddev but none of them will give me a working install and I'm at my wits end, any ideas why hyva won't install on your version of Magento?

This is a known issue with how docker-magento handles the vendor directory. The key point is that the vendor directory is only visible inside the container, not on your host machine.

To install Hyvä properly:

1. Run composer inside the container: bin/composer require hyva-themes/... (your specific Hyvä packages)
2. After installation, run bin/magento setup:upgrade
3. Then bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy
4. If you encounter permission issues, run bin/fixperms

If you've already tried installing on your host machine, you may need to sync with bin/copytocontainer vendor.

The "nothing happens, no error" behavior is typically because the install ran on the host but the container doesn't see those changes. Can you confirm you're running the composer commands via bin/composer rather than running composer directly on your host?

Hi Wayne,

I'm not sure why they would suggest using Warden, as there is nothing specific to docker-magento which would prevent Hyvä from being installed or work properly.

I just installed Hyvä and it installed without a hitch with no problem. What steps are you using to install it with?

FYI I do have a "Getting Started with Hyvä" course that I'm currently working on at https://m.academy/courses/hyva-theme/, and all of the steps to install and configure Hyvä have been published. I personally use docker-magento for everything and have had zero issues so far.

And also, Dosu wasn't entirely wrong. Are you using bin/composer rather than just composer?
