How can I use only history search - fzf-tab and autocomplete

I really like seeing the history without having to press CTRL+R for fast completion - however I use fzf-tab for other completion. How can I only utilise the history search? My config:

What do you mean by this?

I'm also trying to get fzf-tab and zsh-autocomplete to work together. I'm using the automatic reverse history search to get the history as I start typing, but I would love to be able to trigger fzf-tab completion when I need it, which I cannot seem to get to work. Anyone know how to make this possible?

I meant the exact same thing you typed out from what I understand. Basically from this plugin I only want to use the automatic history and any other completion feature should be done via fzf-tab.

Gotcha! I don't know if you have seen this. I think it is supposed to address this topic (and as stated at the end, should be working out of the box), but I cannot seem to get it to work with my config.

I recognise the thread, but yes I'm in the same situation. It doesn't work with my config either.

I'm not able to get fzf-tab working at all, not even in a clean environment:
