So after running the ./remount_vfat.sh /mnt/media_rw/2IDK-11F4 command I can see the /binding folder in my FAT32 hard drive that is connected to the pixel.

Do we drag the photos on the hard drive into that folder that we want to back up with google photos?

Yes, everything in the_binding on the external drive becomes visible at the_binding in the internal storage.

Try dropping a test image or video into the_binding on the external drive from your PC, then mount the drive into the phone.

Is there a any to upload the photos and keep them in their designated named folder? Because at the moment it just uploads directly to photos based of the date of the photo taken.

not sure what you mean. i am pretty sure google photos remembers the enclosing directory name for every uploaded file.
