I'd suggest associating the existing 'docs' folder icon with the folder names you're requesting, or perhaps recoloring it orange for this case.

You can create a clone of the existing docs folder, change the color to orange and then apply it to the forms folder name. That would be ideal if you could adjust your PR with that.

Simplified the older design to new one.
Color combination taken from existing icon having orange or similar accent.

I'd suggest against symbols that differ between a folder's open and closed icons.

Either symbol suggested looks similar enough to the docs symbol; it conveys the same idea in their contexts. I would still recommend a recolor (and I personally vouch for orange!).

Hi, thanks for your opinion. But I had the following in my mind.

• It suits better for me having pencil while editing the form, (looks cool though), unless there is a limitation in this project.
• If you look closely, the form motive is not same with the existing docs symbol, existing docs symbol has too much page fold and just a pair of line at the bottom, while form has smaller page fold, 3 check boxes, 3 lines associated with it, a better look in my opinion.
• I don't like orange color, as it's too light for light themes and makes the motive blur, i would go for option 2, 3 or good old 4.

What do you say?

  A folder being opened doesn't necessarily mean its contents are being edited.

  ... unless there is a limitation in this project.

  I don't believe there's anything under the contribution guidelines that specifies a folder's two icons have to have the same motive, but as far as I've seen, this PR would be the first to add such (even if it would be cool for icons to change based on a file's different states).

• I understand the two icons are different, but many of the aspects fall against Designing Pixel-Perfect Icons, especially the width of many outlines.

  If the difference between a small representation of a paragraph and a checklist remains a breaking point, I'd still suggest copying the docs folder icon for its main shape, and editing it to contain a checklist instead.

  There's also more icons than just docs that might match the semantics you're looking for:

  • custom
  • helper
  • images
  • log
  • mail
  • mappings
  • meta / resource
  • mock
  • tasks
  • toc (Table of Contents)

  This could apply to any hue with the wrong shade. If the contrast between the folder and motive, or those and the background, is too low, you could always adjust the value of each until it looks good on both backgrounds. Take claude, export, and license for example.

Tried to match the existing folder-docs outline, orange color accent, folder-mappings like checklists, folder-mock like pencil.

Looks a lot cleaner! I'd say the pencil still makes it a bit too complex, but it's definitely more consistent.

Try pushing it to your fork and checking the automatic preview under the PR, it should include a link that lets you review its 16×16 alignment.
