bug: sensitive test #61

@cdelcastillo21 one of the tests you added has triggered at least five times today due to numerical error.
here's a recent one.

in all cases, a cutoff of 0.25 would have worked (the errors are like 0.22-0.23 every time I see them).
consider the change. I'm just re-running failed CI jobs so they pass in the meanwhile.
