Fix NPM trusted publishing

Cutting a release after having merged #145 didn't quite work:

npm error need auth This command requires you to be logged in to https://registry.npmjs.org/
npm error need auth You need to authorize this machine using `npm adduser`

Not sure if the issue is on the registry side or the workflow side.

Sounds like we need a newer Node.js distribution. Trusted publishing is only supported in npm ≥11.5.1, and right now this repo is using Node 22 which ships with npm 10. Node 24 is the current LTS version, so it should be safe to upgrade.

I can bump this tomorrow morning (also need to bump Node types)

Thanks for the analysis & action plan.

For now I will revert the version bump commit that CI created, so that running the release workflow again won't skip a version.
