Improve UI / UX, CSS, make the website more playful and "game-y"

I'm really bad with UI/UX so this will probably come last. But right now, mantine components are nice and everything, but they give a very stale vibe, which is almost too clean and orderly, with lots of blank space. The design looks, well, vacant.

I want to have the site appear much more inviting, colorful, and game-y.
One web based game that does this well is ShellShockers

Interactions with the page make sounds, the colorful blue gradients, the playful large fonts, it's very simple yet fun. Space is utilized well, and I like the settings menu popup, etc..

This is more of a brainstorming ticket than anything, but in the long run I want our landing page to have a similar, inviting vibe.

There are infinite possibilities with this! I'd love a loading screen with a Fokker flying by, maybe with a Bristol chasing it :p

I think it could be ok to keep working with mantine, but override its components' styles considerably. Offering quick development & nice visuals with one stone.

WYDT should the vibe match what Aapeli (Playforia) had, or be something completely different instead?

I'm open to any suggestions, frontend design is by far my weakest point in development, so I'm probably quite limited by my skills in that area, so I have a harder time thinking outside of the box here. I agree, there are lots of fun ideas to play with. I think it doesn't necessarily need to match Aapeli's vibe, but I'm imagining something more unique to the game. I need to come back to this when we're more or less finished with everything else
