Long file names misidentified as invalid cisco config

This is probably not an issue with this plugin, but i don't know how NM chooses the correct plugin and this error effects wireguard users.

Version: Gnome 46 on Fedora 40.

Problem:
Valid wireguard config (with incorrect file name) triggers error message that references cisco configs:

Expectation: show correct error message like nmcli:

nmcli connection import type wireguard file some-much-too-long.conf 
Error: failed to import 'very-much-too-long.conf': The name of the WireGuard config must be a valid interface name followed by ".conf".
