Feature request — MCP server for Sidebery to enable AI‑assisted tab management

I’d love a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for Sidebery. This would let AI assistants connect and act on tabs, panels, containers, and sessions in a safe, structured way.

• I keep around 2 000 active tabs. I constantly add, group, and remove them. With MCP, this could be fast, reliable, and scriptable.

What is MCP?

Why Sidebery + MCP

• Clear API for tab actions, with permission prompts inside Firefox.
• Works with any assistant that speaks MCP (desktop or local). No vendor lock‑in.
• Repeatable workflows: the assistant can run the same cleanup/grouping tasks on demand.

Great usage examples

• Topic grouping:
• “Group all current-window tabs into panels by topic.” The assistant calls list_tabs → get_tab_text (titles/snippets) → clusters → create/move panels via move_tabs.
• Weekly cleanup:
• “Close tabs older than 30 days that I haven’t visited.” Use list_tabs with lastAccessed, then close_tabs.
• Focus set:
• “Find tabs about PostgreSQL migrations and pin the top 5 docs.” search_tabs → pin_tabs.
• Duplicates sweep:
• “Remove duplicate YouTube pages.” deduplicate_tabs with canonical URL strategy.
• Reading queue:
• “Collect long reads into a ‘To Read’ panel and discard the rest.” search_tabs by content length → group_tabs → close_tabs on low‑value.
• Work session preset:
