Winhance : "Windows Default Settings config file"

I know this tool is created for optimizing and debloating Windows 10/11, but can you also create/share a script that will toggle ALL options as if we have our Windows 10/11 back to OOBE status?

The Sysprep tool in Windows can take you back to the OOBE experience, is that what you are referring to?

I have been using Winhance: this latest version and previous versions of your great tool.
I have been toggling some different options On/Off, but now want to go back to Windows Default OOBE settings.

This is why I hope there is a Script available through Winhance that will bring back my Windows 11 Pro version back to it's 'original Microsoft/OOBE' state. As I have no more memory if/which toggle is by default (Microsoft) On/Off, this is why I ask for a 'default/OOBE' script. Having e.g. all telemetry enabled, Start menu Centred, Widgets shown, etc etc.

In other words:

I am essentially asking for a Winhance-compatible script (or similar method) that will reset all system tweaks and settings back to their original Windows 10/11 OOBE (Out-of-Box Experience) defaults, as if the system had just been freshly installed. This includes:

• Re-enabling telemetry and diagnostics
• Restoring default UI elements (e.g., centered Start menu, Widgets enabled)
• Reverting privacy, performance, and appearance tweaks
• Undoing any debloating or service disabling
• Re-enabling Microsoft services and features that may have been turned off

I watched your video on resetting Winhance changes, but I think my situation is a bit different.
From what I understand, the restore point only brings Windows back to the state it was in when Winhance was first installed. That works well if the system was fresh at that time, but not if the user had already made many changes over months of use.

For example, I installed Windows 11 six months ago, changed lots of settings manually, and even used Chris Titus Winutil to toggle options. After that, I installed Winhance, experimented with settings, and applied your recommended config file. Now I’d like to return to the true Microsoft defaults — the same settings you’d get after a clean Windows install — not just the state of my system when Winhance was first applied.

Would it be possible to add a “Windows default config file” option in Winhance, alongside the recommended config, that resets all settings back to Microsoft’s defaults without relying on the initial restore point?

Hey there,

I understand the video that I uploaded doesn't solve your initial issue or request, but it wasn't really targeted at that, it was targeted at people not understanding that they can revert the changes made by Winhance and take their PC back to the state it was in before they ran Winhance.

You request is a bit different and yes I can probably add an option like that to the config import window, it is a good idea too. I also have to rework the current backup system, I can see the issues with it too.

For your specific case, something you can do right now is to do an in place upgrade and perform a clean install that way (while keeping all of your files and or apps if you want to). Here is a video I made about the process a long time ago in case you don't understand what I mean. It was made on Windows 10 but the exact same thing can be done on Windows 11 with a Windows 11 ISO. If you choose the option to keep all of your files, settings and apps, then I think it's not going to revert Windows back to all of the defaults, which is what you want, so for your case it would be best to select the "Keep Nothing" option, but then you need to make sure that you backup all of your important files etc. because it will be deleted in the process then.

I understand what you are requesting, but I can't guarantee how fast I will be able to implement that, so I just mentioned the above for the time being in case you want to do that.

Might be easier to install Windows freah onto a VM. Then Install Winhance in that VM.
Once opened it should detect all default settings and without changing anything save this as default config. ...
Afterwards import this config on the physical hardware. It should get you 99.9% on default ?

That's my thinking.

Yeah, this could work too. Honestly, I will probably be creating a default config file in the future, I'm just working on the existing bugs for now, but even with a default config file, it probably won't get Windows to a default state, as in a fresh install, it will just remove the stuff that was implemented by Winhance.

Getting to pure Windows defaults would mean a fresh install of Windows.

@memstechtips : still looking forward to get the "Winhance Default Config File" some day! Take your time! And even though its not like a fresh install, this is exactly what I would like to get. After using Winhance and other de-bloaters (CTT/Wintoys), to use Winhance to come back to a state that Windows is 99,9% like 'untampered'.
