opening bracket ( giving the error

Thanks for very useful plugin - we are having the company name with bracket, while we entering the opening bracket, we are getting the error Error in PLSQL code raised during plug-in processing on right side of the screen. Hope the special character is giving the problem, please provide the work-around to fix this issue. Company names like Oracle (India) Pvt Ltd, Microsoft (China) LLP etc

Handling the below code in source of the plugin, it is started working now - this is to avoid the error
ORA-12725: unmatched parentheses in regular expression

l_search_term := replace(l_search_term,')','\)');
l_search_term := replace(l_search_term,'(','\(');    
g_search_term := upper(l_search_term);
