Feature request - Start search after certain amount of charachters

Hi,

thank you for this Plug-in, it was very useful for me. 
But in some cases where there is a lot of records in the LOV, I would like to have an option to execute the search after the user has entered at least 3 or 4 characters. Mainly for performance reasons.
Is this a possibility in the future releases?
