Add support for big diagrams with a configurable ratio

Proposal

For big diagrams you would normally mix TD and LR orientation to make it fit a certain aspect ratio like A4 Portrait or A4 Landscape

Can you consider adding support for a MIXED orientation?

Example

TD Top down (existing)
LR Left Right (existing)
MIXED Top down but with some parts Left to Right to be able to widen big diagrams to prevent the skyscraper effect. Perhaps with a configurable ratio between height and width

A mixed/automatic layout orientation to avoid the "skyscraper effect" on large diagrams is an interesting idea. This would involve changes to the layout algorithm infrastructure (rendering-util/layout-algorithms/) and potentially the config schema, which affects all diagram types — so it needs maintainer input on approach and feasibility.

Some current workarounds:

• Using LR direction with nested subgraphs arranged vertically can give a more balanced aspect ratio
• Splitting very large diagrams into multiple smaller diagrams is another common approach

Flagging for human review since this touches shared layout infrastructure.
