Upgrading metashare node questions #771

Helo,
We would like to upgrade our METASHARE node in Wales. What is the lastest viable version for production?
We've noticed that some forks such as https://github.com/CSCfi/META-SHARE have resolved dependency issues themselves and can't help worrying that METASHARE is using Python2.7 and django 1.7 both of which are not maintained or supported.
Is there anyone looking at this?
