Python: historic Hourly data

I'm using a Python app to query the "Hourly" API on a daily basis and record the future and past 10 days.
Since my update to meteostat-1.7.1 in July'25, the behaviour has changed:

• now, normally only 2 past days are updated (before it were more days)
• after irregular periods (1-3 months) data suddenly gets updated 30-90 days in the past now (this was not the case before)
  Why is this and could the behaviour be made more steady again?
