Thanks for posting your query. Its a very useful one for discussion.

Based on the output you provided on your first comment, it looks as if mhm has already been compiled properly i.e. you have the executable file named mhm. When you typed mhm it ran, although with some error.

So I would say you do not need to re-do any of the steps up to mhm compilation.

In regards to the error you got while running mhm, it looks as if the folder in which you have your mhm executable doesn't have the .nml files (namelist files). Please make sure about this. For your reference I am adding a screenshot.

Once mhm is kept along side the namelist files, mhm knows what are the input, output data …
