πŸ“’ Announcement: 1.0 and Changing OwnershipΒ #1576

Description

@michaelfaith

We're happy to share that we're about a couple months out from our first "stable" / 1.0.0 release. We have a few deprecation periods that need to elapse before we officially cut the 1.0 release. We'll start rolling our beta pre-release versions starting next week for any early adopters that are interested in getting it early. We're targeting mid-April for the full v1 release, at which point we'll be more strictly adhering to semver and all the stuff that comes with a stable release cadence.

At the same time as we've been prepping for 1.0, @JoshuaKGoldberg's time has been spread pretty thin and we've been discussing how I might be able to take some of that load off of his shoulders. So, in a couple weeks, we'll be transitioning this repo and the npm package ownership to me (along with package-json-validator and eslint-fix-utils), with Josh continuing to support the project in a collaborator role. So, basically we'll just be swapping seats.

We don't expect this to change much in terms of project goals or execution. I've been acting in an informal project lead role for a bit anyway, doing a lot of the development and feature planning. So, that won't really change. It'll mostly just be a formality, but giving me more access to make necessary changes to the repo configuration as situations arise, without having to bug Josh as much πŸ˜….

We also don't expect there to be much in the way of disruption, but wanted to call this change out in advance, so anybody interacting with the project will be aware.
