Self Diagnostics in 3.x #3056
Description
The 3.x version of application insights now incorporates the usage of the azure monitor opentelemetry exporter. As an enhancement to this, there needs to be a streamlined way to set up self diagnostics.
Current state is:
- Application insights has this configuration
- Open Telemetry has this configuration.
Expected future behavior:
- A customer should be able to set a single configuration, ie for ApplicationInsightsDiagnostics.json, and that should allow for self diagnostics for the shim and underlying exporter to be turned on.
