Custom workload job status not updating

I've added a job to my custom workload but when I run the job it always shows as "Not Started" in the monitoring hub:

I've defined the Get Job Instance State endpoint as per the docs and can see the expected response being returned by my application to the fabric requests:

However it's still not updating in the UI, any ideas why not?
