Can I use Fluent UI React V9 icons in V8 components?

Hi, our project uses mostly Fluent UI V8 components, but now we want to use Fluent UI V9 icons in those V8 components. I read about the docs and the code, seems it is currently not supported.

1. Would V8 components support V9 components in the future?
2. Besides, it seems really confusing that @fluentui/react-icons and @fluentui/react are two different packages, all the icons belong to fluentui but I to import icons of different versions I have to use packages. is this intended?
