Are Checkpoint and AOF Formats Stable?

The FAQ mentions that the checkpoint and AOF log structure might change until version 1.5, but you expected stabilization by then.

Now that 2.0.0‑beta.1 is out, could you clarify:

Are both the checkpoint and AOF log formats now stable and backward-compatible starting from 2.0.0-beta.1? So, could checkpoints and AOF files created in 2.0.0-beta.1 be reliably used to recover in later 2.x or future 3.x releases?

Or, would stability happen when 2.0 is GA?

I did find a related discussion, but it was focused on the timing of version 1.5 release.
