SFDX not working on Mac

I have been trying to use the sfdx commands on Mac with all the necessary extensions installed, however I still cannot get the commands to pop up and keep getting the error message zsh: command not found: sfdx as well as zsh: command not found: list
I have tried to contact Microsoft about this but they shifted the blame to Github so I would appreciate if anyone could help resolve this issue

Thanks for starting a discussion! Unfortunately, this team doesn't know what SFDX is and, furthermore, we don't really work on any Mac software over here. We're the "Windows Terminal" team, who works on an application named "Windows Terminal". This repository is specific to "Windows Terminal".

what about to do with Microsoft help seeing as Visual Source Code is made by Microsoft
