Version 1.18.5 compiled exe is detected as virus by Microsoft/Windows Defender

When I compile any exe file Microsoft/Windows Defender detects the exe as Trojan:Win32/Convagent!pz.
VS Code is v 1.85.1 and reports that there are no newer version available.
Latest available version appears to be v 1.18.5 from within vs code even though the web page reports v1.19.1 as latest.
I have tried several virus scanners, none of them report anything.

I updated to v 1.19.1 by downloading and installing [email protected]
Same result - exe is detected as a virus
