Help debugging my code

I have developed a plugin to an external software (https://fiji.sc). I can debug using the test functionality, but I can't debug directly when running the software. Is there any way to attach my debugger to fiji when running my plugin, or this is just nonsense from my part?

To add to the discussion: Since it is a plugin, my code has no main class.
