Markdown notes output line wrap?

Hey guys,
I believe I have the proper markdown setting set in settings.json ; it works for a pure markdown file but for ipynb ; my linewrap doesn't work at 80 characters. and even though i have lines on a new line when is esc out it just takes up the entire width of the vscode window
