Notebook keeps on executing subsequent cells after encountering a runtime exception

Recently, I started facing an issue described in the title, and haven't found any checkbox under VScode Settings to fix it. Could you provide some hints?

please could you share the details of the issue with instructions on how one can replicate this issue or a screen recording

also please share the following logs
Please could you enable logging as follows:

• Open settings & go into Jupyter->Logging
• Change the value to verbose
• Reload VS Code,
• Attempt to repro the issue & then copy the output from the Jupyter output panel.

The second cell has a green chekbox, and it has completed successfully, yes it has an error output, but the cell has completed successfully.

I think you have a custom error formatter than returns error messages in a different way.

• Please could you try running the same notebook in Jupyter lab/notebook as well,
• please could you share the saved ipynb (raw text), I'd like to see the output and the mime types for the second cell

This is waht the output of the second cell should look like (its different at your end, meaning something in your kernel/python environment is changing the output)
& thats whats causing this issue

Not sure what you mean here

In Jupyter lab or works because there's nothing changing the output error format, as you can see the output is a different format in Jupyter lab, that's why it worked there
It works working vscode too if you reminded that error formatting

Try the following in Jupyter lab:
Can you clear all outputs, save the notebook, then run everything again in Jupyter lab and saved the notebook
If you check the output you will see the output mime types are different, and that's how an error is detected (html is not an indication of an error)

In vscode a html output is returned, that in no way indicates an error

My suggestion, try to remove the error formatting you have applied, just as it doesn't exist when you run in Jupyter lab
This is something that is done in the python environment (not vscode)
