When I run:

!gcloud auth application-default login

I get the following output:

The command expects input, but Vscode extension does not allow entering any character, eventually timing out.

In Colab, this is handled properly.

Unfortunately getting input from shell commands isn't supported.
You will need to pass the necessary flags into the shell commands to get around this.
