github-pullrequests not detecting current PR #7997

Historically when I was on a branch linked with a PR an * would appear next to it and comments would automatically displayed.
For the past ~2 days this has not been working.
I also attempted in both release version and pre-release with no improvement.
I've seen this behavior before, but was always able to get it to work by reloading VSCode (Insiders)
I've double checked that the branch is syncd with origin, though I think that should not be required.
One possible hint is that github has two PRs which link to the same branch (though one is closed)
I wonder if the logic checking the branch presumes there will only ever be one PR with a particular feature branch and is failing because of this.
