Hide irrelevant tooltip popups #778

Type: Feature Request

I asked a question here and no-one seems to know the answer, so it must not be possible in VSCode. Therefore I am submitting a feature request.

The problem is that there are too many distracting tooltip dialogs and I want to hide most of them, except when I am debugging and want to hover on a variable to get its value.

In this screenshot, I am in a debug session and each line has a yellow highlighted section at the end. I don't want this. Also two dialogs appear on top of each other when I hover on array_function=normalise_array. The function def dialog is too big and not needed. I can look up the definition when I want. The smaller special variable dialog on top of the function def dialog is OK. This one can stay.

Here are my user settings.json - in suggestions I have seen online, some of these should help. They do not.

This has been an issue for many versions of VSCode, so upgrading to the latest version will likely not help.
