How to disable search for interpreter in non-python repos in a multi-root workspace?

We have a multi-root workspace and some repos are non-python repos. The extensions complains for all of them to select a python interpreter, but there is none to select.

How can we disable this?

There was a similar issue, which was closed with something that doesn't help us: #22475

related to the issue you linked, the extension only gets triggered because there was something python related there, otherwise the extension itself should not start. Could you confirm there is nothing python related (and maybe watch for what action you take which triggers the notification) and see if that action has anything python related that could have triggered it?

Could you clarify what you mean with "there"? Where?

Within the .code-workspace file there is nothing python related. Yes, we have other python projects within the multi-root workspace. But this should not trigger requiring a python interpreter for other non-python projects within the multi-root workspace.

by "there" I mean in the given workspace it is triggering for. These non-python repos you have should not trigger it, since you are saying there is no python code right? So something is triggering it and trying to figure out where. You could also try opening one of these non-python repos alone (ie not in a multiroot scenario) and see if python ext gets activated there.

It's not clear to me what event triggers the extension to search for Python Interpreters for all repos (right now it was when I pulled changes of a branch in one of the python repos).

I'm not sure how to check if the python ext gets activated. I opened the documentation repo alone and VS code does not show the "Python Interpreter" field in the status bar. It also doesn't ask for a Python Interpreter.

The VS code profile I use does have the python ext installed.
My local VS code user settings contain entries with "python.*" but do not contain "python.defaultInterpreterPath".

I did execute the VS code command "Python: Clear Workspace Interpreter Setting" for these repos.

Anything else I can check to debug this issue?
