This extension is using the API proposal 'chatSessionsProvider' that is not compatible with the current version of VS Code.

when trying to select specific version it shows some 1 year old versions only

@RaymondTracer in my case the person closing duplicates is a volunteer not employed by Microsoft but trying to prevent unnecessary noise from distracting those who will fix this transient issue. Meanwhile I suggest you revert to yesterday's Insiders.
