Get-WinGetSetting should write an object to the pipeline, not mere JSON data. Don't force the user to do this:

No matter what command I run I get the error The type initializer for 'Microsoft.WinGet.Client.Commands.Common.BaseClientCommand' threw an exception.

Running Windows 10 21H2 and PowerShell 7.3.2.

I tried manually adding the assembly, but it fails.

Did you include the latest version of the PowerShell module with https://github.com/microsoft/winget-cli/releases/tag/v1.5.441-preview ? The module manifest shows v0.0.1 from last July, and it looks like a Crescendo module.

Digging deeper, I see that Microsoft.Winget.client.dll has a new time stamp. And maybe this is an entirely new module which is why the version number is 0.0.1. So maybe this is the latest version. If so, then there are bugs.

Perhaps put an $IsWindows check in there with a relevant error code so that it doesn't merely report that it doesn't find winget.exe.

In hindsight, there might be those that might want to use it with winget running under wine. I can just wrap the commands themselves in OS-checks.
