Here is a simple guide to contributing to CourseSwaps. Please read it before making a pull request.
To contribute to the project, follow these steps:
- create your branch from
main. - If you've added code that should be tested, add tests.
- If you've changed APIs, update the documentation.
- Ensure the test suite passes.
- Make sure your code lints.
- In the root directory, there is a script called
format_code.pythat will format your code to the correct style usingblack. You can run it withpython3 format_code.py. Before you commit, make sure to run this script. - For Javascript, make sure you format your code with
prettier. You can either install the extension for your editor or runnpx prettier --write "**/*.{js,jsx,ts,tsx}"in the root directory. - If your code does not pass the tests or lintin(you will see this in the pull request), fix the issues.
- In your pull request, make sure to include a description of what you did. Use the template provided below. For all frontend changes, please include screenshots of the changes.
