Publish the MoJ Figma Kit to the Figma community

What

Publishing the MoJ Figma Kit to the public 'Figma community' will make it more widely and easily available. The MoJ Figma Kit is currently used internally, and a link is provided publicly, which we need to approve 'view' requests for when anyone outside of MoJ wants to use the kit.

This will include an interim solution to remove the DPS components while we wait for them to be removed from the MoJ Figma Kit. This has been agreed with the IxD in this space.

Why

By publishing the MoJ Figma Kit to the public Figma community we can negate the need to approve view requests, provide a broader reach, and allow people to access it more quickly (because they don't need to wait for us to grant their view request).

Tasks

Publishing the Figma file

• Create a named version of the MoJ Figma Kit with DPS components included
• Remove DPS components from the Figma Kit
• Publish the MoJ Figma Kit to the Figma community with DPS components removed
• Once published, reinstate the DPS components by reverting to the named version

Updating content

• Re-write the content in the 'Figma' tab underneath each non-experimental component coded example.
• Update links on 'Setting up Figma prototypes' guidance for MoJ and non-MoJ staff, to point to Figma community file location.

1. In the ‘example’ changes a question:
   Does ‘working for MoJ’ in the context of Figma mean a) you are logged in to Figma using an MoJ email address, b) you’re logged in to Figma using a justice.gov.uk email address, c) MoJ is your ‘organisation’ in Figma settings, or d) something else? I’m asking because of potential discrepancies between working here and having an MoJ email address eg managed services (although in some instances those people are given an MoJ one). I also wanted to cover a potential scenario where an MoJ staff member doesn't have the right licence.
2. 3rd para to read: If you work outside the MoJ, view the guidance on setting up Figma prototypes for non-MoJ staff.

3. This instruction looked a bit mysterious. It made me wonder why a user has the option to add it and why it hasn’t been deleted instead. Is it correct to say that it's not being maintained as a library? If so, I'll change the text.

1. Effectively it means a, b, and c. These instructions are for anyone at MoJ with a full Figma license. According to the list of users, everyone with a full license currently has a justice.gov.uk email address, though this is not to say someone with a domain email address (e.g. publicguardian.org.uk) might not also be granted a license.

Do not download and use the GOV.UK Design System Figma community file. If you work for MoJ you should use the libraries that are automatically added.

Helen Nickols (@helennickols) ok thanks for clarifying. We don't have control over the GDS one on the Figma Community as mentioned in that callout. It was created a long time ago and is no longer updated, so we're warning people away from that one, and toward ours.

If you could, please let me know if there should be any other content changes aside from what's been mentioned in the thread.
