Thank you guys so much its really helped a lot. I've learned a ton over the last couple of days. naming the item entity or block .json file was something so simple yet so complicated for me to initially wrap my head around. I still have one question regarding dropping enchanted items like armor. I used the enchant_randomly function and I was wondering if I could give a weight to the rarity of each enchant. would that just be adding a "weight": line to the code? well I guess I could just trial and error it instead of asking all of you here.

ok i would like to scratch those questions after about an hour and a half of tinkering i figured out how to do a lot of what i was initially asking in the 1st reply.

my only question as of right now is how would i make certain drops like say raw iron coming from a dirt block higher with fortune but not another item in the loot table.

why isnt there a function generator? you literally could at least just put a big text box to put any commands into at the very minimum
you dont necessarily need it to generate commands for you

its so i can have the functions on the site so i dont have to download recipes manually and put them in the datapack on my pc manually
and then realize i forgot to download some random recipe like 2 days later
its better to have it on the site so i just have to download the datapack from the site after making changes

bruh it just wiped all my datapack data
the names of the datapacks are there but both of the datapacks say "no files"
im glad i got saves on my pc jeez

how i think this happened:
it was stuck loading the datapack data on the left side and then i reloaded the tab and all the data was wiped
so it couldnt load the data and then me reloading it made it save the data but since there was no data it saved over everything

There is a problem with the noise settings tool. Whenever I add or delete a surface rule, the whole thing stops working. I have found out that the problem is, that when something is changed (something gets added or deleted), this thing in the surface rules:

i want to be able to put functions and structures into the folders without having to:
-download the datapack
-unzip the datapack
-put the files where they need to go
-rezip the datapack
-upload the new datapack into the website
-delete the old datapack

Ran into a bug where switching between a density function and a noise type would copy over whichever I selected last and replace everything which would break functionality of course. The code in the json preview would carry over and update the new file to match the one I was previously looking at. I will see if I can reproduce it

it is i dont know much about cobblemon but it is gonna be either in the dimension file /data/worldgen/dimension/<dimension.json> under surface rules (which are a mess so good luck) or it generates as a part of a structure, if so go to mc and generate the structure with the help of /place structure command and remove the block then compile it back to .nbt file (if you have problem with this part theres plenty of tutorials on yt) then just put that file instead of the old one and now it generates without the block

I have found a bug but dont know how to report it so ill just post it here
In advancements when selecting a block if you select "minecraft:beetroots" it wont show the icon, the icon will be showed only when you remove the "S" at the end so it becomes "minecraft:beetroot" but then it will told you that it cannot find that block...

i think i now know what causes the issue, the blocks take in the pictures from items so for example i can put "minecraft:compass" instead of a block and it will show the icon but it wont show the icons of the blocks, only the items

Make a Minecraft Java datapack for version 1.21.4:

• Name: bridge_timer
• pack_format: 32
• On load: add scoreboard objectives bridge_time (dummy), bridge_timer (dummy)
• Every tick: if bridge_timer = 1 then add 1 to bridge_time
• Show bridge_time in actionbar as mm:ss (minutes:seconds)
• /function bridge_timer:start → reset bridge_time to 0 and set bridge_timer = 1
• /function bridge_timer:stop → set bridge_timer = 0
• /function bridge_timer:reset → set bridge_time = 0
• Auto-start: when player places lime_wool, run bridge_timer:start
• Include:
  • pack.mcmeta
  • data/bridge_timer/functions/{load, tick, start, stop, reset}.mcfunction
  • data/bridge_timer/advancements/place_block.json (trigger on lime_wool, reward bridge_timer:start)
