I’m really interested in this Neovim plugin project, but I’m not sure whether the desktop version is still actively maintained.

It's blocked by mistweaverco/kulala-core#2

Once this is "ready", it's getting implemented in the Kulala products. At least that's the plan. Core has been somehow actively worked on (if you keep in mind that most of us having full time day jobs and other obligations).
