Clock display won’t lock

Hello, I am trying to get your medical professional clock face to stay on my screen when I tap it like it is supposed to. For some reason it is not. I’ve tried everything I can think of and it still will not stay on when I tap it. The lock icon is not popping up when I tap it. I’m using a brand new Fitbit Versa 2. I’ve deleted the clock face and reinstalled, turned off the watch, etc and nothing seems to work.

Myself and my friend is having the same issue and we are both in the medical profession and was hoping this would be the perfect solution.

Perhaps you can make into one which can be set as AOD? (Always on Display)

Is this issue being ignored or did it get resolved? Having the same problems. Not much help if I can’t lock the second hand for more than 60 seconds!

Sorry - somehow I didn't get a notification that there were issues open here. I'll investigate and see if I can resolve. I did see the newer FitBit OS seems to have removed the ability to use the autoOff setting to keep the face on. It has something to do with protecting AMOLED screens.

I'm sorry to say - there is no easy way to fix this. Here's what I've found out:

As of SDK 4.0 - Fitbit no longer allows you to keep a screen turned on for AMOLED devices. These include all of their newer devices like the Versa 2, Versa 3, and Sense. They do this for 2 reasons. First - it can cause screen burn in if you leave the screen on long enough. Second - it drains battery life.

A new "Always On Display" capability exists. This requires special permission from Fitbit to use. There's a bunch of extra rules you have to follow to get your app or clock face approved. For clock faces in particular - you can only update the screen once per minute - which is kind of useless if you wanted a second hand so you could take vital signs.

The only solution I can come up with would be to create an entirely new app. Fitbit makes a distinction between apps and clock faces. That app would have to get approved for "Always On Display" and behave like this clock face. I'm afraid I simply don't have time right now for this.

In the meantime - my existing clock face should continue to work on all new devices EXCEPT for the lock feature. On the plus side - Fitbit has changed the time a screen can stay active. Looks like you can change it to as long as a full 60 seconds. When I created this clock face - 60s was not an option. The longest you got was 20s if I remember correctly. Having 60s as an option is at least helpful for doing a quick pulse check.

I do apologize and I wish I had better news. I'll keep this issue open in case I find something better or more helpful in the future.
